Yes, I did go to the real Whisky Society last night, not the University's imitation. They serve unnamed cask-strength whiskies in a room painted deep red & heated by two large fireplaces. It's got quite a fancypants feel to it. It was my first trip down to Leith, the seaside section of Edinburgh. I walked down there (45 minutes from Churchill House to the foot of Leith Walk) & took a bus home.

And I actually made it to swimming this morning! La!

I can't invite you - you have to go with a member. I get the feeling that membership is pretty expensive, but a quick Google search will probably tell you all about it.

However ... next time I finagle an invitation, I will try to expand it for you. Promise!

Membership's not cheap, but it's not completely out of this world, either: £75.00 (http://www.smws.com/cgi-bin/user/whiskysociety/shop.pl?category=Membership). But I have to admit, that's out of my price range.
