Remember what I said about New Orleans? Something about it being highly unlikely that I would be deployed to New Orleans?

Well, I'm flying to NOLA on Wednesday morning, arriving at 11:00 AM. The FEMA Joint Field Office (JFO) is currently in Baton Rouge, but they are setting up a satellite office in New Orleans. So who knows, maybe I'll end up in the Big Easy after all.

Training has been very thorough, but it's now starting to get a wee bit dull. I'm ready to deploy!!

I'm riding down to Gentilly with my new friend stardances who is an evacuee from there on Wednesday; we will be going into the city on Thursday. I don't imagine we'll see each other, but I'll be beaming good joss at you (we're going in full regalia, masks, goggles, gloves and boots to check her house, which was flooded by both levee breaches, Katrina and Rita).

Got your message. It was good to hear your voice. We were far away in Canada when we received it but, now we're back. It would've been a hoot to meet up with you.
