Summary of the last few days, in quotes.

Wednesday's flight to South Carolina, summarized by the four-year-old who was seated three rows ahead of me: "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!"

Thanksgiving weekend, summarized by my sister-in-law: "If you even think you might get hungry, like in an hour or so? You shouldn't take that risk. Get more food right away."

Yesterday's workout with Sgt. Apone, summarized by the sergeant: "Nice work, Road Kill. Do you watch Aqua Teen Hunger Force? Good. I'm upgrading your nickname to Frylock."

My chances of getting home for Christmas, summarized by my boss: "We're gonna have to talk about that."

What is this "overtime" of which you speak? Would that be some pay policy where you get paid more money for hours worked in excess of normal hours? Yeah, FEMA doesn't have a policy like that.

I wouldn't be working ON Christmas itself, since it falls on a Sunday. But most likely I would work on the day of Christmas Eve.

Upside: I would probably get to go home on rotation over New Year's.
