Did he say infrastructure? We LOVE infrastructure!

Obama economic plan aims for 2.5M new jobs by 2011

"President-elect Barack Obama promoted an economic plan Saturday he said would create 2.5 million jobs by rebuilding roads and bridges and modernizing schools while developing alternative energy sources and more efficient cars."

The "road and bridges" part of this plan is very good news for URS. Actually, the "modernizing schools" and "developing alternative energy sources" parts will probably be good for us too.

Very Nice... Considering I'm part of a "Roads and Bridges" group :) Not to mention, while it seems expensive, it most likely will save money in the long run.

Besides, you have to spend money on infrastructure maintenance & upgrading. Unless we want all our bridges toppling into the rivers they cross... a lot of maintenance has been deferred for a long time. It's a good idea to get caught back up on that, & it does generate lots of jobs.

BTW Brian B* showed up at the Galveston AFO yesterday. We had dinner. He's being deployed way north of Houston to Lufkin, TX (aka The Back of Beyond).

Huh. It really is a bit of a New Deal, isn't it?

Well, World War II's increased production really did the job, but yes, the New Deal did very well. Frankly, I'm all for it.
