Work. My supervisor called me & told me, point blank, that I ought to start looking for another job.
But I'll get the last laugh. Not only am I now super-busy (100% billable, working from my sofa, wrapped in a blanket & petting the dog between spreadsheet edits) BUT I figured out how to make URS' Employee Assistance Program (mental health support service) pay for five sessions with a career counselor. ROFL!!
My huge, year-long, soul-draining field project in NE Colorado & western Nebraska ended in early November. Two weeks went by & I was having trouble finding billable work - mostly because I had been completely unavailable to everyone for months & they had forgotten I existed. So my boss called & told me that he didn't think my transfer to Denver was going to work & that, if I didn't want to move back to Houston, I probably should start looking for another job.
