We're running low on sunlight up here

I know my photos can't prove it, but there is full daylight here sometimes. About twenty minutes of it per day!
Today Kristin, Heather, & I walked up onto Calton Hill to watch the sunset. At 3:45 PM. That's right, the sun was down before 4:00 PM. Calton Hill features a really eccentric collection of monuments - some Greek temples, an observatory or two, a graveyard, some unidentifiable sculpture. Walking around the top gives you panoramic views of the city & its environs. And the moonrise. Dammit.

And that is why I don't want to go the London for my spring break in early March... LOL I forwarded this to my friend John. Greece, here we come! Thanks!

How far north are you again? London?

Or is this a matter of being on a timezone which "belongs" one hour over?

I'm about 400 miles further north than London. Edinburgh is located at about the same latitude as Juneau, Alaska. I've been saying that we're as far north as Fairbanks, but I looked at a map the other day & realised Fairbanks is much further north. Poor bastards.

I remember my first couple nights in Glasglow in July. At 11:00 PM, it was still light outside! I had never realized how far north Scotland was until then.

I am looking forward to long days full of sunlight. Really, really looking forward to it.
