The ongoing mystery of Royal Mail

I mailed my affadavit to get a Delaware absentee ballot on Monday. Today I get an email from the Delaware Voter Registration Board saying they received my affadavit, processed it, & my ballot is on its way to me in the mail. In October, it was taking up to THIRTY days to get mail from Delaware. What changed between now & then?

Anyway, good show, RM. Keep it up.

On the flip side, it took some 20 days for the DC DMV to get my car registration from their office to my apartment, which is about 10 blocks away.

You know, in my amazement at the speed & efficiency of the mail, I've overlooked the equally amazing feat of the DE Voter Registration Board. At the earliest, they got my affadavit today. Which means they got it to the right person within the bureaucracy, opened it, read it, processed it, & sent me a personalized email telling me that my ballot was on the way ... in one day. Inconceivable!
