Admission.

I want to get a puppy.

Puppies (and dogs) are totally awesome. Do it.

I miss having a pet, especially a dog. I want one really badly. But I want to make sure that we are in a position to spend enough time with the dog.

They are an extreme pain in the ass.

Take the coldest nastiest morning you can remember... then think about having absolutely no choice about needing to get up and walk a dog outside.

IknowIknowIknow.... I'm definitely not a dog n00b - my mom used to show Giant Schnauzers & we always had at least one dog when I was growing up.

But taking care of one while living in the city? And working long hours? With no yard for easy exercise? Yeah. I know.

Then again, it is a forced workout routine. You HAVE To get out of bed everyday no matter what! And these days, there are dogs that you can litter-train.

And there is always Flex Petz!

[identity profile] angledge.livejournal.com 2008-01-09 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Flexpetz = SHEER UNADULTERATED GENIUS!

[identity profile] love2loveher.livejournal.com 2008-01-09 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah. Flexpetz has inspired my mom, who now wants to do something of the same variety - or at least something dog related - to cash in on all the non-baby-having 20-something career minded peoples of my generation.

I love the part about getting a dog from any branch - so when you travel, you can explore and look like a local.

Also, I just adore the Roxie icon. SO CUTE.

Me too.

A) My apt doesn't allow dogs
B) Even if it did, taking care of dogs is a LOT harder when you don't have a yard
C) Dogs are relatively high-maintenance animals, and my schedule is fucked-up enough that I couldn't take care of one by myself.

But I still want one...
*pouts*

Our apartment allows dogs, so A) isn't an issue for us. But B) & C) are definitely on my mind.

You are more than welcome to take one of our pups anytime you want...to get your "puppy fix". I am sure they'd love a change of scenery.

Hahahaha, sure thing! But how will your dog get to NYC?

Shut up!

[identity profile] effrontery.livejournal.com 2008-01-09 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Aw! I say do it, if you can. :)

You are not the only one. I have settled for a baby for now. Yes, I am 4 months pregnant. Time to send out the announcement email to everyone.
