Friday 5

1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?

I love snow. I love cold weather. But honestly, I have neither at the moment. Apparently, it rarely snows in Edinburgh - winter features more slush & sleet & cold, cold rain. Boo.

2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?

Ideal Christmas celebration ... well, Stacy tells me she's never missed a Christmas at home, so I guess we'd spend Christmas with her family. But an ideal holiday celebration would involve seeing my family, too. Trying to mentally work out the logistics of making that happen makes my head hurt. Of course, any ideal celebration would wrap up with a trip up to Ithaca for Hive New Year. So this year is going to be pretty darn far from ideal, but it will be fun nonetheless.

3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?

No unusual ones. Church on Christmas Eve, then come home & open one present. Christmas morning, get up, eat breakfast while opening presents. Sing lots of Christmas carols (with my sister-in-law playing the piano & my brother playing the guitar). Eat a big meal. Watch lots of football on TV.

4. Do you do anything to help the needy?

Not particularly at Christmas, but throughout the year I'm involved in charity work (MANNA) & I donate money.

5. What one gift would you like for yourself?

This year? Clothes. Bought for me by someone with style.

Here I Go!

1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?
I don't mind cold weather. Not bitter bitter cold, but I prefer a brisk cool day to a blazing hot summer day. And snow is nice... as long as I'm not driving in it. Let it snow all night and then the roads are clear for when I have to use them.

2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?
Ideal holiday celebration would have to be a fun party with friends. All my friends together in one big happy place for a bunch of days, where we'd be laughing and drinking and stuff together. That's all good.

3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?
Christmas Eve is always done at my parents' house. It's the European tradition, instead of doing it on Christmas Day. After that, New Years tradition is always a gathering of the Hive in Ithaca for days on end, as per #2.

4. Do you do anything to help the needy?
No. The needy are the weak, and Charles Darwin says they will fall to the strong, so I'd better save what I can to make sure I don't end up like them one day.

5. What one gift would you like for yourself?
One of the Olsen twins. Either one, I'm not picky.

This is from your Philly Friend, Andrea.

1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?

Yes! I love snow and the crisp winter air. I would rather be in the colder weather than the warmer weather...I wilt!

2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?

To be able to spend a nice quiet Christmas at home with my Cupcake is perfect for me!

3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?

I do like to bake cookies and watch people open gifts that I got for them, but they aren't necessarily traditions.

4. Do you do anything to help the needy?

I try to help out individuals when I can, I am not part of a volunteer organization. Kudos to people who do volunteer and/or donate to charity!!

5. What one gift would you like for yourself?

A kitchen-aid professional mixer.
