First day at Thomson – ISI
May. 1st, 2003 04:20 pmBored, bored, bored, boredity bored bored bored. OK, this place is nearly as disorganized as Jubilee. Well, that’s not true – at least here, the chaos is delegated. But it’s still chaotic. I think that’s partially because I’m replacing a fairly high-level administrative assistant who is taking a two-week vacation, so her job is fairly complex. Also, the woman who was supposedly in charge of my orientation is a temp herself, only been here since Thursday, and … a profoundly disorganized thinker. Reminded me of Flippy, from ye olde days of ISSI.
First of all, yesterday. It was a bittersweet day at Jubilee. I really can’t say I’m sad to go, because the work really was getting tedious & the low pay was extremely annoying, but I will miss some of my chocolately colleagues: Ryan in particular, James & Andrew to lesser degrees. But I left at 5:00 PM, paycheck in hand, with a bag of seconds. Bubbye, candy industry. The innumerable calories you fed to me will probably ride my waistline forever.
