One month in new house.

I'm getting over a cold, acquired while traveling for work. I'm wrapped in blankets & sitting on the sofa. My faithful hound, also wrapped in blankets, is tucked under one arm. There's a fire crackling in the fireplace in front of me. Above the fireplace hangs the TV, showing Monday Night Football. The Christmas tree is to the right, lights twinkling through the front windows & reflecting off the remnants of last week's snow.![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
hotpantsgalore is to the left, sipping a cup of tea & ranting at her Dallas Cowboys.
The kitchen is full of delicious scents. I made a chicken & vegetable soup from scratch in the slow cooker today, so there are aromas of chicken, & thyme, & roasted vegetables, & salt. I also baked a batch of banana-chocolate chip muffins, adding a sweet smell. And a breakfast casserole for the rest of the week is cooling in the oven, smelling of sausage & greens. It smells of plenty.
