angledgeMan these Scots drink hard. I had a few hours of lameass classes today, but then at 5.00 pm my department had a wine & cheese welcome event. In the USA, wine & cheese welcome event would involve a bumch of lillyfingered academics having half a lgass of chardonney, then going home to read Chomsky. Not here. oh no. WE kicked case after case after CASE of wine, ate loads of bread, some small token amoutn of cheese. Then at 7.30, I had to leave ... to go to another wine & cheese, this time wtih the Warden of my House who incidently is a Professor in the Divinity Colllge!!!! And he got us all drunk off our arses - pouring more wine into your cup hmself if he didnt' feel you were drinking enough. NO WONDER THE CELTS LOST THEIR NATIONS. It's all very clear.
I'd liek to take this opportunity to announce that my classmates are no longer my classmates - they're me mates. Och, the best crew ever. We're bonding. I love these peopel. If I could import the Hive & Stacy to Scotland, I 'd never leave. Crap that I can't.
