1) Sight - What is one sight or vision that really stands out in your memory- an incident, natural scenery, a picture, etc.? Why?

Walking over the suspension bridge at Cornell right after a huge storm had passed through, & seeing the sunset. It stopped all foot traffic on the bridge for nearly ten minutes. I have never seen colors like that since.

2) Sound - What sound or sounds are most pleasing to your ear- music, animals in the forest, waves in the ocean, etc.?

Beethoven's 9th Symphony - "Ode to Joy". My personal favorite version is the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, Eugene Ormandy conducting, with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir doing the vocals.

3) Smell - What smell provokes the strongest reaction from you, positive or negative? Why?

I love the smell of baking chocolate chip cookies. It smells like home & comfort & warmth & all kinds of good things.

4) Taste - If you could have everything you eat taste like one thing, and would never grow tired of that taste, what would it be?

Raspberry chocolates from Jubilee Chocolates.

5) Touch - What physical feeling gives you the shivers- a cold wind, a bug crawling on your foot, etc.?

Being touched - even casually, like a handshake - by someone I don't trust.

6) Time - Describe a long "moment" in your life, a point where time seemed to stretch far longer than it really did.

When I was still working for ARCADIS, I was on-site one day when a packer (a piece of equipment used to test wells) was overpressurized & shot out of the well about 30-40 feet into the air. A huge geyser of contaminated water also spewed out of the well. I was standing about fity feet from the well, but three other people were much closer. Watching them run away, trying to get out of the water, & wondering where that 500-pound packer was going to land - time seemed absolutely frozen.

7) Motion - Do you get motion sickness? If so, from what? If not, what's the coolest "motion" you ever experienced?

I generally don't get motion sickness. My favorite motion is scuba diving, where I feel like I can move with complete freedom in every direction.
