I had thought maybe if you went to high school in Concord, that you may have known some of my old childhood classmates/friends, who would have graduated in 1988 in Concord (can't remember the name of the H.S. -- maybe Alhambra High?). I'm sure some ended up going to Carondelet, but I don't know who.

The high school in Concord that I remember was Clayton Valley High School. That's where I would've gone if I hadn't opted for Carondelet. Does that name ring a bell?

Yes, I lived in Germany for a year. That's where I learned German, among other things. Also where I took lots of trips to other countries- Iceland, Israel, UK, and stuff.
