Schwimmfest results

angledgeThe FINS Aquatics Club, my United States Masters Swimming club, hosted a swim meet this weekend. We called it Schwimmfest, because we were holding the meet in conjunction with the Equality Forum. Each year, the Equality Forum spotlights GLBT life in another nation, and this year the focus country was Germany. Thus, Schwimmfest.
I was supposed to compete in two individual events, the 100-yard individual medley & the 100-yard freestyle. The IM was my first event, & I did well: I won my age group & swam a 1:12.88, which isn’t bad considering how infrequently I’ve been practicing for the last year. But then I missed the 100-yard free entirely, because I wasn’t paying attention to the order of events. Ah well.
I also swam in two relays. I was the anchor for the 4 x 50 medley relay & I ended up touching out another team to win by .10 second. Hooray for long arms.
