The first few image pairs aren't that amazing, but starting at about image 5 they are just unbelievable. They really help contexualize the damage that has been done.
I have watched several amateur videos of the tsunami and I still can't begin to imagine the utter terror that people felt as they experienced this horrible act of nature first-hand.
Thanks, Ang. Andrea had mentioned these photos and I hadn't had a chance to see them yet. Such a terror these people lived and continue to live through. As much as we have seen on television, have heard on the radio and on the internet...sigh...I'm sure I am nowhere near in wrapping my brain around it all. What their actual experience was. Nothing compares to this. All I could do is give some money. I feel as though everything else...all my petty daily concerns and tasks have no weight at all. The gravity of this horrible, horrible tragedy is ...there are no words.
