Thanks to [personal profile] delve, I've become addicted to a website called PostSecret. From their own description:

"PostSecret is an ongoing collaborative art project. People from around the world share their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard. You are invited to anonymously contribute your secrets to PostSecret. Each secret can be a regret, hope, experience, unseen kindness, belief, fear, betrayal, desire, feeling, confession, or childhood humiliation. Reveal anything - as long as it is true and you have never shared it with anyone before.

Create your own 4-inch by 6-inch postcards out of any mailable material. But please only put one secret on a card. If you want to share two or more secrets, use multiple postcards.

Please put your complete secret and image on one side of the postcard.

You may mail your postcard inside an envelope if you prefer.

Tips:
Be brief - the fewer words used the better.
Be legibleĀ– - use big, clear and bold lettering.
Be creative - let the postcard be your canvas.

PostSecrets are more likely to be displayed if they are short, easy to read, and creative.

Mail your secrets to:
PostSecret
13345 Copper Ridge Rd
Germantown, Maryland
USA 20874-3454"

Also available as an RSS feed: [profile] post_secret.

Woah. That's seriously cool. *is enthralled as well*

I got to thinking about what I'd put on mine, and was sort of at a loss. I don't have any secrets, really; none that I can express in words, at least.

You see, we need more art exhibitions like that. I really like the exhibitions that have some degree of interactivity. A sort-of similar example is the Constitution Center in Philadelphia. They have displays that explain current debates facing the Supreme Court, with bits about relevant court decisions as well as information about possible ramifications of different decisions. Then there are piles of Post-It Notes, so people can write their own comments & stick them around the edges of the display.

Reading the notes on the gay marriage panel was fascinating.

I didn't think I'd look at this when you first posted it, but after scrolling past the entry a couple of times, I decided to look and it is pretty neat :)

I'm glad you gave it a whirl. It's weird, but after reading some of the secrets other people have put on those postcards, somehow I feel better about some of the things that I carry around inside of me. Or at least, I don't feel like such a freak.

I'm still reading it- it is fascinating and yes somehow reassuring that all these people have problems too....
