Catquake & internet shopping

I was awakened this morning at 4:30 AM by an earthquake. Actually, I wasn’t – but that was my first impression upon rising to consciousness. My brain was rattling in my skull like dice in a cup, & my whole body was trembling. As I became a bit more aware, I noticed that I wasn’t sleeping alone. Torgi was curled up next to me, with his head wedged under my chin & his spine laying against my sternum. I had wrapped my arms around him at some point & hugged him close. He was purring like a locomotive, & that’s what was causing my head to vibrate. That’s some champion purring, to awaken me from a sound sleep! My display of gratitude for all his love was to toss him out of my bed, so I could roll over & go back to sleep.

And in news from Summer 2005, seolta & I have booked tickets that will allow us to meet up in Atlanta after IGLA Championships. We’re going to drive up to my parents’ house in South Carolina, live the Country Club Lifestyle™ for three days, then fly out to San Francisco. We are looking forward to lounging by the pool, drinking cocktails on the gazebo at my parents’ house, playing with Gus the Wonder Schnauzer, & some hiking & maybe even white-water rafting in the mountains. After all this, seolta will be staying in San Francisco for a few days, then returning to Edinburgh. It should be a fun trip for both of us! Also fun was booking the plane tickets – we were IMing each other whilst simultaneously booking on the same flight. So we’re 7,000 miles apart, booking tickets for a flight four months in the future, & we managed to book seats right next to each other. The internet rules!
