[livejournal.com profile] ataralas posted a link to this article yesterday. After thinking about it overnight, I'm sharing it with my f-list too.

From David Leonhardt of the New York Times: What $1.2 Trillion Can Buy.

Text saved here. )

Quick explanation of terms for any Brits reading this: Americans say that one billion = 1,000 million, and one trillion = 1,000 billion. So $1.2 trillion is $1,200,000,000,000. I can't remember the British definitions of billion & trillion, but I think they differ.

What do you think the US Goverment should have spent $1.2 trillion on?
