angledge: (Triathlon)
Tuesday: GTS in Central Park. I ran, without walking once, for 50 minutes continuously. This amazed me to no end. I don't know how far I went, but I estimate it was ~4.5 miles.

Wednesday: was July 4th, so I took a day off from training to hang out with visiting cousin [profile] fanboyextream & resident cousin [profile] katieledge. We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge; does that count as minor exercise?

Thursday: I tried to go to Astoria Park Pool for the morning lap swim, but the lifeguard didn't show up. Punt.

Friday: normally a day off, but instead it was Take Two at APP. The pool is actually pretty nice: 50 meters, not crowded, six blocks from my apartment, & FREE. No pace clock though, so here's the rough workout:
Warmup 300 free
8 x 50 kick, IM order by 50
4 x 400 free, DPS, :20-:30 rest in between reps
3 x 100 free hard
200 warmdown
Total 2,700 meters, approximately one hour.

Saturday: Valentina was still not repaired, so I missed the GTS. I did a gym workout that went like this:
run 10 minutes (1 mile)
45-minute Xbike spinning class
run 30 minutes, cool down 5 minutes (3 miles)
I didn't walk at any point during the runs, & the spinning class was intense. This was a really good workout.

Sunday: went running at the Astoria Park track with [profile] katieledge. This was a pretty easy run because 1) my legs were tired from the previous day; & 2) [profile] katieledge doesn't run very often. We did about 2.5 miles, running mixed with walking, & then a long stretching session.

76 days to the triathlon.
