Grrrrr: WTH is wrong with me?

For the past 2 1/2 days, I have been utterly miserable. I feel tired & achy, & my nose is running constantly - except when it's so stuffed up that it can't run. I have horrific sinus pressure, which is giving me a gigantic headache.

Apparently, Austin is reknowned for horrible allergies; specifically when the juniper trees are pollinating. Sufferers call it "cedar fever" even though it is juniper trees causing the problem.

But I've never really had problems with allergies before, & I'm not sure that's what I have. So my question is: how do you tell the difference between a cold & allergies?
