WholeLent, Day 4.
Feb. 21st, 2015 08:18 pmSleep: .... was fine? I showered & used magnesium last night & I slept until about 6 AM. I was a little cranky, but Day 4 of the Whole30 is (semi-)jokingly known as "Kill All The Things Day". Compared to how I felt on Day 4 of my first Whole30, I feel great.
Breakfast: prosciutto muffin, slice of sweet potato quiche, half an avocado, black Scottish breakfast tea.
Snack: cup of barnyard bone broth. It's my best batch of broth yet!
Lunch: Mama's spaghetti sauce over spaghetti squash.
The afternoon was spent in a food prep frenzy. I spent nearly five hours dicing/chopping veggies & stuffing veggies, meat, coconut oil, & spices into 10 one-gallon Ziploc bags. The end result: ten semi-prepared meals, most of which just need to be dropped in the crock pot. While this sounds convenient, it's actually bad news for
hotpantsgalore, because she won't have a crockpot in Wyoming. I'm keeping them all.
I purchased the spice mixtures from Wildtree. Today was supposed to be a Wildtree party, but the Front Range is under a winter storm warning, so the Wildtree rep cancelled the party. She brought me my spices yesterday. But as I started prepping today, I realized she didn't include one of the spice mixes. FEH. Anyway, now I have nine prepped meals in the freezer & the tenth meal was dinner tonight. First review: we were underwhelmed by the spices on the chicken.
Dinner: roasted whole chicken with Herbes de Provence, Coconut-Almond Green Beans, & roasted sweet potatoes.
