I brought another dozen water hyacinths to the pond in order to increase shade, in an attempt to reduce the algae. I think the snails are beginning to have an impact but it's still a swamp. I also added a very small dose of a microbial anti-algae solution. Baby steps.

Also around the pond, two different sets of irises bloomed in the last week. The large (bearded?) irises bloomed about a week ago & the smaller, darker purple irises bloomed a couple of days ago. The flower beds around the pond look amazing, with mostly purple flowers.
Today I planted some more veggies in the raised bed: two more broccoli, two cauliflower, two Swiss chard, & two pak choi. I added some soil around their roots & weeded the whole box. Our raised bed is FULL of enormous earthworms; as in, more than one per trowel scoop.
