angledgeIt has been over six months since the last DesWorld dispatch! Admittedly, I've been away from the office for about half of that time. But today, Des reached out via email to me (& the whole office) on the important topic of Holiday Party Attire.

Subject: Clarification for Holiday Party Attire
Clarifications in response to recent geotechnical, civil engineering and archeological staff enquiries:
- Welding jackets are excluded;
- Shirts or trousers manufactured from discarded sofas or from the curtains of grandparents are strongly discouraged;
- Trousers are mandatory (kilts may be substituted if of Scottish ancestry);
- Socks should be of a similar hue but need not be "identical"; and,
- Spandex bicycling pants may not be worn at any time during the event.
And - please drink responsibly, especially if you are driving.
