Summary: 40 minutes running, 3.47 miles, average pace = 11.5 minutes/mile.

I alternated 1 minute walking (15 min/mi pace) with 3 minutes of running. I increased the pace of the running on each repetition, working up from 11.3 min/mi to 9.5 min/mi. Also, lots of stretching before & after to fend off further knee owies. And I feel pretty good about the workout - I think I could've gone another 10 or 15 minutes. Others might not agree - I turned my customary crimson color that always makes people think I'm on the verge of a coronary. When combined with my sunburn from last week's field work, I was a bright hue indeed.
