angledge: (Team in Training)

I just faxed in my recommitment forms to Team in Training. This means two things.

First, these forms will get me registered for the Olympic-length race in Pacific Grove - committing me to that length & not the sprint length that was my cop-out position. I'll be doing the 1.5-km/0.93-mi swim, 40-km/24.6-mi bike, 10-km/6.2-mi run version of the event. Yes, yes I will.

Second, these forms commit me to raising $3,200 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by August 25th. If I don't raise that much by that date, they will charge my credit card for the difference. Yikes! Anyway, if you've been thinking about donating some money to my fundraising effort, now is the time. I appreciate any & all amounts that you can spare.

The reason they make you commit to raising the funds (or paying up yourself) is so that TnT can guarantee that at least 75% of the money they raise goes to their mission. They come up with the minimum number by figuring out how much it takes to train/equip/register/transport me to my event ($145 registration, one night in a hotel/they provide a wetsuit/they pay a coaching staff/etc/), then they multiply that number by 4.
