OK, I've got the 99% probable deployment information for my next FEMA adventure. It appears I will be flying to DC on Sunday evening, to attend a few days of exciting FEMA training in Herndon, VA. Then I will be deploying to

AUSTIN TEXAS

to the Joint Field Office for Hurricanes Dolly & Gustav. I will do my best to STAY in Austin, but it's likely I will get sent to some smaller office near the coast.

And you read that right - this deployment is NOT for Hurricane Ike. Although I imagine we will end up describing some of Ike's damage.

I'm sure thereject and I could entertain you for a night or two (though whether karaoke would be entertaining or painful without xgreenjudasx's golden pipes I leave it to you to decide).

Also, whether or not you're officially stationed in Austin, I'll be there on the afternoon of November 15th and all day the 16th with nothing planned (I'm at a conference for the 3 days following) so it would be great to see you then.

We should definitely get together - since HPG isn't around, I could visit your apartment without needing an asthma inhaler! Poor HPG just can't handle the cats. Lesbian bar karaoke is not an absolute requirement, just a hilarious memory.

As for Austin in November, if I'm there, I'd love to see you after your conference. We'll plan (if possible) nearer the time.
