Ghostwriterxx interviews Angledge
Jun. 23rd, 2003 11:06 pm1) If you were told that you only had three days left to live...what would you do and why?
Day One: Eat a plate of babyback ribs. I've been a vegetarian for ten years, & ribs are what I miss the most. Then spend the rest of the day with Stacy. No interruptions tolerated.
Day Two: Biggest. Hive Party. Ever. But not exclusively Hive - I'd invite EVERYONE - Grrls In Action, swim team, family, neighbors, high school friends, etc. This party would be held at my friend David's amazing house in upper Bucks County. We would swim, barbeque, drink like fish, tell stupid stories, & completely enjoy ourselves. I would plan my own funeral. I would write my own eulogy. It would be like attending my own Irish wake. I would do this because I would want all of my people to know one another so that they could support each other after I died, & also so that I could convey to everyone my sincere belief that dying is not an end, but a beginning. My death is not something I fear - it's the greatest adventure possible.
Day Three: Spend the morning with my pastor, Ray. Make peace with God. Then spend the afternoon with my family. Then spend the evening with Stacy.
2) If you won $1 million dollars...what exactly would you do with it?
Immediately turn every penny of it over to my brother (who's also my broker) for investment in some incredibly safe bond fund. Boring, I know - but if he could assure even a 5% return, that's $50,000 a year. I'd never have to work again.
3) If you had the power to make one law that the entire world had to follow (this be hypothetical of course) ... what would it be? Why?
Universal ban on the manufacture of weapons. If everyone HAD to follow it (no violations were possible), this would mean an end to large-scale war. I suppose people could still hit each other with sticks, but somehow I think we could deal with that.
4) Name five things that irritate you more than anything. Why?
1. Hypocrisy/Insincerity. Say what you mean, do what you say. Otherwise you're wasting my time.
2. Bigotry/Stereotyping. You can't assume you know everything about someone when you know one thing (their race, their gender, their religion, their sexual preference) about them. Dependence on stereotypes is a sign of lazy thinking.
3. Indifference. I won't try to tell everyone WHAT they should care about, but please, please, PLEASE - care about something. If you can't find something to care about on your own, THEN I'll give you some ideas ;)
4. Pettiness. I'm guilty of being petty sometimes myself, & that irritates me as much as does pettiness in others. There are too many important things in the world to get outraged over ... it seems a waste of energy when I get all worked up about pointless issues.
5. George W. Bush. The man is such a wanker. Let's not elect him again in 2004.
5) Okay...you know how restaurants get health inspections etc...your favorite restaurant gets a bad health rating. Nothing that makes you sick, cockroaches that never make it into the food...a) Would you want to know? b) If you found out would you stop going?
a) Yes, I'd want to know.
b) Yes, I'd stop going. I'm pretty fanatical about clean kitchens. Cockroaches = bad.
Thanks, gwxx!!
Forgot to remind everyone: if you want me to interview you, post a comment letting me know & I'll reply with your five questions. Then take the five questions back to your LJ & post your answers there. Ta-dah!

Date: 2005-08-13 03:05 am (UTC)1) Well, we each have drifted a bit more into our own worlds... since you first asked this, Larry has fathered a kid and Kodos is way out in middle o' nowhere. I think we're getting a bit farther apart, but at the same time, maturing in our careers and such. I think in 5 years, we'll all be settled into our things and have more time and money to do stuff. We'll see, I guess?
2) I joined because my fiancee and a very close friend joined and were raving about the college benefits and whatnot. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Duh, me. I did learn how to run a few miles, properly make a bed and pack a backpack, and learned to pretty much eat anything I need for sustenance and ignore the taste, if I hafta. I also learned a lot about the idea of 'promotion to the level of incompetance', which I could explain some time.
3) AFter having to wear it short for a few years, I wanted to try it long. I kind a liked it, even if I was given the occasional odd stare.
4) Hopefully, sometime after Astrida does.
5) I'm confident and like, totally rule.
I swear answering this all sounds hella familiar though.
