lazing around Calton Hill last Sunday

Last December, I posted a photo I took from Calton Hill to show how short the days had gotten. Well, the seasons have turned, baby. Here's a photo from the same location at the same time of day:





There's a strange skeleton of columns on Calton Hill's summit.


They make great frames for the incredible views available in all directions.


You can see across the Firth of Forth into Fife (say that five times fast).

The first picture makes me think of War Of The Worlds, with the cranes as the gigantic Martian war machines storming the land...
