Let me summarize: worst year in memory.

GOALS FROM LAST YEAR:

I didn't make any resolutions for 2017.

HEALTH:

Hmm. I lost some weight this year, so that's good. I got my neck fixed & I'm starting the year with no major complaints (my knees give me twinges but nothing severe). I went through the entire year without a fixed exercise routine. And I didn't work on my mental health issues, in general or around food specifically. My relationship with Shay is in a death spiral, & I've mostly been ignoring that as well. Additionally, the poisonous political climate has permeated nearly my every thought, adding a burden of pessimism & fear.

HEALTH GRADE: A B on physical health & a D on mental health. Get your head in the game.

WEALTH:

We did fabulously this year. Lots of overtime from Gold King, a $1,700 bonus at the end of the year, fairly steady employment for Shay. Both the stock market & the Denver real estate market are skyrocketing (Bubbles? Probably.) Shay is an excellent CFO & while I was suspicious of her paying down all of her debts, I now realize that it really doesn't matter. Debts are debts.

Change in assets, 2017: increased by $92,716.78
Change in debts, 2017: decreased by $41,981.20
Change in rough net worth, 2017: increased by $134,697.98

WEALTH GRADE: Not One-Percenters but doing great anyway. An A+ year by my standards.

HAPPINESS:

I'm having trouble writing a paragraph summarizing this year. Shay & I are probably finished & the process of realizing that has been awful. And yet, we are not doing ourselves any favors staying together. I've just barely started the process of getting some help with my mental health (second appointment tomorrow). I loved the Gold King project & my local friendships are all strong & getting stronger. My relationships with my brothers got better, but my relationships with my parents got worse.

HAPPINESS GRADE: I can't give myself one grade here. I feel like I got 2 As, 1 B, & 2 Fs. So, some bright spots & some black holes.

GOALS FOR 2018:

I'm keeping them simple this year:

+ Hike more.
+ Join Movement Climbing & Fitness & explore climbing as a fitness routine/hobby.
+ Stick with therapy even if (especially if) it annoys me.
