angledge: (headbanging stress)
Shay & I have always disagreed over whether or not the dogs should be allowed on the bed. I love cuddling with them, she thinks it's dirty & bad for her allergies. When we first had Shadeaux, she slept in her crate every night at first. But when Shay started forcing me out of our shared bed because of my snoring, I would let Shadeaux sleep with me in the spare bedroom, or on the sofa, or wherever I ended up sleeping. Since I now sleep apart from Shay almost all the time, Shadeaux has gotten used to sleeping with me & recently, so has Hobbes.

This is a mistake.

I get much less sleep when the dogs are in bed with me, especially now that there are two of them. I need to figure out how to get them out of bed. I know, I know - simple answer, kick them out! But I am ridiculously soft-hearted on this issue, especially with Shadeaux. I can have Hobbes out in a second - I'll just start putting him in his crate again. But my baby-dog? She doesn't even have a crate. I suppose I could get her one, outfit it with a nice cushion, & just... suck it up & crate her. Honestly, that's the best idea.

I was going to write a lot more about how complicated this problem is, but writing it down has made me realize that it's actually... very... simple.
