angledge: (Can of worms)

La chica recently found out that she will be spending three weeks in NYC for director's workshop this June. Knowing that she's going to be on the East Coast, in the midst of so many of my friends, makes me really, really want to make a trip back East myself. Not a little quickie like my upcoming jaunt to [profile] kikimoose & [livejournal.com profile] chrysoberyl's wedding (although I'm looking forward to that, too), but a full 10 days or so in Philadelphia & NYC. I'm thinking late May, before the weather gets intolerably hot & muggy. I want to wander the streets around [personal profile] effrontery's place, hang out with the GiA grrls, visit the FINS, maybe see Vanida play!, wander around the historical district.... & in NYC, mostly I just want to eat a real bagel, & see my people. They know who they are.

Downside: if I go back East, I won't be able to go to Scotland in the fall with [profile] funkyplaid. And I won't get to see my Scottish people. Tradeoffs, tradeoffs, tradeoffs.

I think it's time to step into the cloning vats.

Is that Betsy Ross' house?

Glad I could evoke the secret co-dependent love addiction that so many of us have w/Philly. It's the underdog-city that "has so much potential". I love it here so much. It would be perfect if we saw you on our rickety "cobble stone" streets...bootscrapers and warm brick facades as far as the eye can see. The potholes miss you, dear.

I do love Philadelphia. I do. It does have a ton of potential - if we could ever stop snapping at each other like a pack of starving dogs. I love San Francisco, & I love it more each minute I'm here. And I loved Edinburgh, & miss its chilly grey stone & wonderful warm people. But neither San Francisco or Edinburgh says "Home" in quite the same way as Philadelphia does.
