Finally, URS-NYC comes through.

I got the transfer approved. First day at my new office will be Tuesday October 10th.

What a relief! I'd like to celebrate this with a drink, but I can't drink right now so you all will have to drink for me.

So question for you: I want to get Charlie/Des a gift to thank him for being such a wonderful supervisor & friend for the past two years. Should I go with the obvious, & get him a bottle of Macallan 12-year-old Scotch? Or can I think of something better?

But Des ALWAYS buys himself Macallan. Shouldn't I buy him something he wouldn't necessarily pick out for himself? We both like Oban 14 & have shared many a dram of it. Or, I could get him a Dalwhinnie 15, one of my personal favorites....

....or I could get him a bottle of that awesome gin that chaosvizier was going on about recently. Just for a change-up. I know he likes gin.
