I probably should have done this as well, but I'll admit that gas has not really gone up overall, aside from the past week when it took a 15-cent jump. I do feel that groceries are more pricey, and I suspect alcoholic beverages are also feeling a price jump. Interesting...

I tell you, though, Spain really ruins you when it comes to pricing. "I'm sorry, what, a pint of beer is... three dollars? Are we sure? Three?"

Portugal isn't much better; if four people can dine in a fairly upscale restaurant with dinner, dessert, and alcohol and still pay under $100 even with (unneeded) tip, you know you're not in Kansas anymore.
