I went to London for a month back in 1995 and thought the English were friendly if they thought you were worth their while, but also the drunkest people in the world. I never met people where the entire life structure is based on drinking. They don't do movies, hang out at homes, they go to pubs and just drink. Must be a euro-thing, but I've seen it mostly from that area.
