angledgeDes has told me that I am for-sure going to be deployed to a FEMA assignment some time next week. I do not have any details yet. I will post when I know.
Just one thing: it's highly unlikely that I will be anywhere near the chaos in New Orleans. I will most likely be somewhere near the oil refineries - Gulfport or somewhere. So when you read the news about the hellhole that has eruped in the Big Easy, don't worry, I'm not headed there.
Edit: Newsweek has an interesting article about the longer-term issues raised by this storm.
